Election of Medical Council members from the Academy
<div class="az-element az-section" data-az-id="gb6e4zxt68" data-azat-pid="gb6e4zxt68" data-azb="az_section" id="gb6e4zxt68" style=""> <div class="az-ctnr container" data-azcnt="true"> <div class="az-element az-text" data-az-id="gb78zvpmgb" data-azat-pid="gb78zvpmgb" data-azb="az_text" data-azcnt="true" id="gb78zvpmgb" style=""> <p>Pursuant to section 3(2)(ha) of the Medical Registration Ordinance (MRO), nominations are now open for the election of <strong><u>two</u></strong> Fellows of the Academy to serve as members of Medical Council of Hong Kong. A Fellow of the Academy who is a registered medical practitioner may be nominated and stand for this election. All Fellows may nominate other Fellows and cast a vote in this election. Pursuant to section 3(3AA) of the MRO, the two elected members of the Academy hold office for 3 years from the date of notification in the Gazette of the member’s election and are eligible for re-election. </p> <p>The notice of election and associated materials have been posted to Fellows recently. Nomination must be delivered to the Honorary Secretary, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, 10/F, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Jockey Club Building, 99 Wong Chuk Hang Road, Aberdeen, Hong Kong, <u>before 5:00pm on 28 May 2021</u>.</p> </div> </div> </div>
Prize for Best Original Research by Trainees (Extension of deadline - 30 July 2021)

The prize designs to recognise excellence in research done by doctors who are in specialist training. To enable more participation and sufficient time for preparation, the submission deadline for BORT has been extended to 30 July 2021, Friday (postmark).
