Seminar on People-oriented Well-being Design: Strategies for Healthier Living (Activity supported by the Academy)
The Housing Bureau and the Hong Kong Housing Authority is organising a seminar on People-oriented Well-being Design: Strategies for Healthier Living on 30 May 2025.
The Housing Bureau and the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) launched the Well-being Design Guide in September 2024, as a reference for the future design of new public housing estates and improvement works at existing estates. Embracing eight "well-being Concepts", the design guide also aims to enhance community health and reduce healthcare pressure by fostering environments that promote physical activity, social engagement, mental wellness and accessibility to health resources to create a sustainable and supportive community framework.
Key Takeaways:
(1) How subjective well-being could be improved by the physical space design
(2) Methodology of the Well-being studies in a human-centric neighbourhood approach
(3) The impact of the Well-being Design Guide on the future public housing developments in terms of health and wellness."
