Gemini Now Available for Fellows and Trainees via eHKAM ID

With the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Gemini is now available to Fellows and trainees (where applicable) as part of the eHKAM ID service. This initiative aims to support learning, teaching and professional development through access to Google’s latest AI technologies. By signing in with an eHKAM ID, users can access the Gemini app or visit gemini.google.com. Under the Google Workspace for Education licence provided through eHKAM ID, Gemini is covered by the Google Workspace for Education Terms of Service, which includes enterprise-level data protection.

In addition, users can access Google Vids, an AI-powered video creation tool designed to facilitate the development of presentations, educational resources, training materials, and other knowledge-sharing content. A free, self-paced online training course is available through the Google for Education Learning Center, along with a user guide introducing the platform’s key features.

Although the Google Workspace for Education environment provided through the Academy offers enhanced security compared with free personal Google accounts, users should continue to exercise professional judgement when using AI tools. Sensitive personal data, confidential clinical information, patient-identifiable information, and any information that should not be disclosed through online services should never be entered into AI applications.
