About the New Venue

The VIP Room 2, compartmentalised by the iconic and eye-catching glass walls with x-ray image, is located at the Library adjacent to the Academy Lounge.

The original semi-enclosed area at the heart of the Library had six ceiling-high bookcases storing collections of medical journals of the various specialties. With most of the journals available online nowadays, the glass room now becomes an approximately 36m2 multi-purpose venue for Fellows and Colleges to book for various activities such as meetings, seminars, workshops or lunch talks at rates being determined by the House Committee.

The original setting of the glass room

The VIP Room 2 is well-equipped with audiovisual provisions, including a 98-inch LED display and sound reinforcement capacity with wireless microphones. It would be a prefect venue for intimate banquets, small-group lectures as well as onsite or online meetings. On days when there are no bookings, historical items of the Academy will be displayed and Fellows are welcome to visit.

For Fellows’ private events such as a private dinner with special guests, the glass walls with switchable smart film could be changed from clear to frosted instantly by just a click on the remote control when needed, ensuring activities in the room would not be disturbed.
