The Academy’s Guidelines on Procedural Sedation has been updated recently according to the comments received. Minor amendment has been made on Page 4 in Section 3.6 under paragraph 3 – ‘General Principles’ as below for improving clarity:
3.6 An anaesthesiologist or an appropriately trained medical or dental practitioner who is not participated in the procedure must be present to monitor the patient throughout the procedure if:
- deep sedation is intended or a potent anaesthetic agent, such as Propofol, Etomidate and Thiopentone, with no specific antagonist will be administered;
